From Poland: Our steps towards the Genfest …

A “special” Way of the Cross

In Lublin, Poland, during Lent, the community of the Focolare Movement for ten years now have  been putting on a special Way of the Cross. This year, inspired by the motto of the Genfest – “Let’s Bridge” – we decided to prepare this event with young people of different Christian churches in our city.
We brought invitations with information on Genfest to them and will let you know how it will go! (above photos of the previous years)

Bridges among generations… Mother Theresa of Calcutta Old-age Home

In Lublin, thanks to the commitment of many people of the community we organized a Christmas show in an old-age home entitled “Marcin the Shoemaker.” The show was simple, but it was warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated. The show was a gift for all of us and everyone left the hall happy. Therefore a wonderful and precious friendship was born among us all.
On the World Day of the Sick, February 11th, 2012, we returned there to sing at  Mass. We remembered that Pope Benedict XVI in the Angelus that day had spoken about Chiara Luce Badano, a young girl declared Blessed, who lived the Charism of unity. We gave a foto and video about her to each of the residents.
We spoke about the preparation for Genfest and asked them to pray for this intention.  We also promised that we would return to update them on all the developments for Budapest.
