Google’s parent company has announced the rollout of its chatbot rival to ChatGPT in the European Union and Brazil, as tech firms ramp up their competition to dominate artificial intelligence. Google also plans to bring Gemini to more products by switching its generative AI tool Duet AI to Gemini for Workspace. Produce Images Yes, in late May 2023, Gemini was updated to include images in its answers. The images are pulled from Google and shown when you ask a question that can be better answered by including a photo. In its July wave of updates, Google added multimodal search, allowing users the ability to input pictures as well as text to the chatbot. Overall, it appears to perform better than GPT-4, the LLM behind ChatGPT, according to Hugging Face’s chatbot arena board, which AI researchers use to gauge the model’s capabilities, as of the spring of 2024.
